Giving to good causes is a central tenet of our Signature, Inc. ethos. We’re always proud to lend our support to nonprofits that are making real impacts in our community and beyond. Our associates recently had the chance to help a remarkable organization called the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund.
Often referred to simply as “The Jay Fund,” this nonprofit was created in 1996 to honor Jay McGillis, a player on head coach Tom Coughlin’s Boston College football team. Coughlin saw what the young man and his family were going through, and vowed to one day create a foundation that would help families with children battling cancer.
After becoming the head coach of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, Coughlin started turning his promise into a reality. He then brought the Jay Fund mission to our area when he took over as head coach of the New York Giants. In the 21 years since it was founded, the Jay Fund has helped over 4,000 families in Northeast Florida and the New York/New Jersey metro area.
During the first weekend in June, we were able to participate in a 5K walk/run event on behalf of the Jay Fund. It was a memorable event in general, but it was especially rewarding because Signature, Inc. helped raise $25,000 for the group’s compassionate mission.
We look forward to helping the Jay Fund more in the future. Visit our Signature, Inc. Newswire for information on our giving pursuits.
